AMONG the biggest bands that Britain has produced in the past two decades, the legions of Kasabian’s loyal fanbase can be safe in the knowledge that their week starts on a high.

Taken from their forthcoming new record For Crying Out Loud, Serge, Tom and co have released a ground-breaking live video for  ‘Are You Looking For Action?’. Said to be one of the first of its kind, the video was streamed completely live on Facebook last night and shot in one continuous take in a secret East London location as cameras followed frontman Tom Meighan and lead guitarist Serge Pizzorno around a busy nightclub scene where they improvised performances in front of a crowd of onlookers. Those tuning in with the hope of seeing any slip-ups will have been disappointed though; the pair offered up some characteristically ostentatious displays against the backdrop of a hedonistic party.

A dark, murky composition which delves back into the psychedelic textures that they’ve intermittently explored over the course of their career, the track itself is bolstered by their trademark duelling vocals and an emphasis on funk-laden guitar that proves they’re still more than capable of pushing themselves into new terrain when they wish to. Flirting with elements of acid house and sinister electro-rock, it’ll be interesting to see if this is an avenue which will be expanded on within their new LP.

The band’s sixth studio album For Crying Out Loud came out last week to wide acclaim. Having recently completed a jaunt around the UK, they now have a busy festival season lined up including appearances at TRNSMT in Glasgow, Benicassim in Spain and Reading & Leeds.
