neon waltz tenement tvONE of the finest acts to have emerged from Scotland in recent years, Neon Waltz are true worshippers of popular music and incorporate elements of everything from shoegaze to dark, brooding alt-rock and chirpy indie into their output.

Proving just how far their musical dalliances stretch upon last year’s First Light, the band have once again dipped their toe into the realm of covers and delivered a touchingly stripped back version of Kurt Vile’s ‘Baby’s Arms’.

Having previously covered artists such as Michael Head and the Strands and Deerhunter, this new version of one of the many stellar excerpts from Vile’s ‘Smoke Ring For My Halo’ sees vocalist Jordan Shearer emotively perform the track with only the strains of his electric guitar as accompaniment.

Making excellent use of his soothing vocal style, it’s sure to appeal to fans of both artists and tide us over whilst we await that debut album from the boys from Caithness.
