THE BAND: Caithness-based band Neon Waltz have been gaining traction since forming in 2013, making it onto a number of ‘Ones to Watch’ lists and with high expectations for the future. Having recently concluded a tour of the UK, the band has released the video for their sparse take on a Christmas classic.
THE SOUND: The track itself is a dense, melancholic affair that manages to maintain something of an uplifting nature. Complimented by soaring, choir like vocals and intermittent guitar strums, its percussion and utilisation of keyboard ensures that it remains within the realms of their signature sound.
THE VIDEO: Recorded in their croft, it is a simple affair focusing on the band as they happily turn their hand to a traditional composition.
THE LOWDOWN: Having just completed a tour, only time will tell what the future holds for Neon Waltz, but they’re predicted to have a big 2015.
