Paolo nutini caustic love

The band: Arriving on the scene an energetic teenager in 2006, Paolo Nutini now plays with a strong five piece band The Vipers boasting intricate skills across strings and brass. It could be said that its this marriage of Nutini and The Vipers that have helped transform one guy and his guitar into a stadium-worthy live act.

The sound: The big ballads of Caustic Love, ‘One Day’ features power vocals from Nutini, a rarity thus far in his career. It’s a supremely soulful track that reeks of passion and is brought alive in the new video.

The video: The dark video doesn’t feature Nutini nor the band, instead a filmed sequence plays out a twisted tale of glamour and lust in a 1940’s style environment. The main actress throughout is Joanna Lumley of Absolutely Fabulous fame.

The lowdown: Nutini is currently on tour and will play rescheduled Glasgow SSE Hydro dates in January after being forced to cancel the original shows due to illness last month. Nutini’s track ‘Scream (Funk My Life Up)’ has been shortlisted for Zane Lowe’s hottest records of 2014 on BBC Radio 1. Vote for the track here.
