HAILED as one of our ones to watch at the outset of 2018, Awkward Family Portraits have continually depicted themselves as a uniquely devised proposition among the nation’s thriving music scene. With all four members converging on an intertwined set of influences from yesteryear, their music goes beyond mere revivalism and strives to breathe a formidable exhalation of fresh air in the direction into rockabilly, skiffle and undertones of folk.

Set to be released as part of a forthcoming double A-side single via Holy Smokes Records, TTV are elated to premiere ‘Baby Blue’, the jive-inducing new track from the  band and musical kindred spirit Cara Rose.

Conjuring up the ambiance of classic duets from Les Paul and Mary Ford, ‘Baby Blue’ is  built around gyrating guitars and an insatiable rhythm that gives Cara ample room to display her vocal prowess and innate charisma as a performer. Imbued with the electricity that harks back to the days where June Carter and Johnny Cash would grace the stage together on the latter’s long-running TV show, ‘Baby Blue’ is a track that could help even the most fearsome cynic to shake off the doldrums and succumb to the indisputable charms that have became a trademark of their output.

Featuring a similarly thrilling video which encapsulates the feel of a picket-fenced America that we’ll only know through celluloid, check out the new track and get the details of their upcoming shows below:
