GANGS

POUNDING, stomping, gritty rock ‘n’ roll surrounds your ears as the snarl of Steven Young’s opening vocals arrive and take it from us, GANGS’ new single ‘Thieves’ is a relentless rock ‘n’ roll blinder that leaves no holds barred.

This is the second single from the Glasgow band, following ‘Knock the Door’ released by the band earlier this year. They might be called GANGS and this track might be titled ‘Thieves’, but make no mistakes about the undertone of this band. This particular track is about old friends and their dirty tricks, a direct and prolific story that smashes on through for 2 minutes 30 seconds.

Citing the likes of The Stooges and Slaves as influences, the four piece have been whittling down their signature style in the studio recently, proud of their rhythmic tunes packed full of off-the-scale hooks and melodies to pitch up and stay in your mind all day long.

The scope of GANGS really does seem limitless, they’ve already shared the stage with fellow Glasgow bands Baby Strange and Holy Esque, sold-out one of their first headline gigs and demonstrate that unknown element that some bands just, have. This exclusive premiere of their new single really marks the arrival of the band, their new promo shot with a prowling tiger in the background is only testament to that.

Filmed around Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow, the new video features the band performing the track live in Nice ‘N’ Sleazy’s. GANGS will play Tenement Trail in October (tickets here) as well as their own headline single launch at Broadcast on 22nd July (tickets here). Watch the brand new video below:
