PRIMED to bring their infectious brand of guitar pop to Tenement Trail this weekend, Perth outfit Parliamo are back with another rambunctious offering by the name of ‘All Dolled Up’.

Still to surpass their teenage years, the five-piece have already seized the attention of Radio X and BBC Scotland with their rousing combination of jangly guitars and catchy choruses; capturing the essence of Scotland’s modern day youth through anthemic tales of teen romance and weekend debauchery.

Their latest offering ‘All Dolled Up’, a track we’re delighted to premiere here on TENEMENT TV, finds the band with their tongue firmly in cheek as they lay claim to the fact that not all is as it seems on social media. Basically, don’t believe everything you see on Instagram.

The band explained “All Dolled Up discusses the stark but humorous contrast between the glamorous image upheld by teenagers on social media, and the actual lives that we live. They say a photo says a thousand words, but Friday evening’s Instagram post does not even give an inkling of what kind of filth and misbehaviour occurred throughout the night; everybody knows this, and everybody’s at it. The song is a tongue-in-cheek commentary of Scottish teenage weekend romance”

Full of that youthful zest and spirit, tongue-in-cheek humour and singalong infectiousness, their guitar-pop sound may be a familiar one but it’s the kind of music that’s hard not to resonate with. And we get the feeling they’re only just getting started.

Catch Parliamo open Firewater at 4.30pm at Tenement Trail this weekend.
