BURSTING onto the stage with an irrepressible energy and undeniable showmanship, The Vignettes made a dazzling first impression when we caught them at last month’s King Tut’s New Years Revolution.

A band who have been building a quiet yet noticeable buzz around the local live circuit since they first emerged in 2015, the four-piece are ready to make their mark on the coming year with the release of their brand new single ‘Jacqueline’; a track we’re delighted to premiere here on TTV.

Unafraid to embrace their pop sensibilities, their latest offering channels the likes of Orange Juice and Franz Ferdinand; from the alternately staccato and chorus-drenched guitars, to the funky bass and drum interplay to frontman Hamish Swanson’s quirky swagger, it’s a track that provides all of the ingredients required for a highly infectious slice of guitar-pop.

The band said: “We’ve often come across a certain brand of person at parties in the city in the middle of the night, self-obsessed and yet seductive. Although their vanity is plain to see, there’s something too decadent and glamorous about it that you can’t help be drawn in–sometimes to the extent that, like this song, you end up almost becoming a Jacqueline in your mind”

Known for their fun and often flamboyant live shows and now with two irresistibly catchy and refreshing singles to their name, it seems inevitable that The Vignettes will continue to make impressive strides in 2018. Watch this space.
