The band: Glasgow’s synth-pop trio have had a massive summer playing festivals including Reading and Leeds, T in the Park and Wickerman; the latter seeing the band take to the Main Stage and drop by our tent to record a second session. The band have previously released three singles ‘I Should Know You Better’, ‘The Seeds You Sow’ and ‘Messiah’: ‘Out of The Blue’ will be their fourth release.

The sound: Taking inspiration from Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Big Love’. The lyrics and idea behind the song come from an an interview band member Stewart Brock saw with Lindsay Buckingham who said that ‘Big Love’ wasn’t about looking for love, it was about looking out for love, guarding against it. Brock says: “I thought that was a really interesting idea, and that’s how I approached ‘Out of the Blue’.”

The video: Talking about the video Brock said: “The video was our most ambitious to date. We really wanted to portray the excitement of a live show, as well as live up to the grandeur of the song. It was great fun to film, and it’s full of all our most ridiculous ideas. It’s a fire-breathing, falcon-catching, knife-juggling, bottle-smashing, sweaty, flare-filled beast, and of course, everything is blue.”
