EMANATING from the capital, Retro Video Club are a band whose entire being pulsates with ambition and aspiration. From the sleekness with which they purport themselves to the hugely anthemic nature of their material, it is all too evident that music is not merely a frivolous past time for this four piece but the centrifugal force that carries them forward. After abstaining from releasing new music since the emergence of the rousing ‘Noir’ earlier this year, the band have raised the anticipation for their Tenement Trail set to an all-time high with the thrilling sounds of ‘Psycho.’

Impassioned indie rock ‘n’ roll that is meant to be bellowed back at them by an entranced crowd, the band’s first track in many months emphatically displays what makes them such a hotly tipped prospect going forward. Led by powerful vocals that ring with emotional clarity set against a foundation of pummeling guitars and percussion, ‘Psycho’ and its encapsulation of the volatile mix of  conflicts and contradictions that manifest in any romance proves that this is a band who’ll be making their way into the hearts and minds of many if they keep forging ahead with such vigour.

Retro Video Club will play Sauchiehall Street’s Broadcast at this year’s Tenement Trail with tickets available now.
