the 25th anniversary of Nowhere; Ride’s landmark album upon us, it’s evident that both the band and their vast fanbase are looking to commemorate the event in a variety of ways.

Having already announced both plans for an expansive reissue and a subsequent reunion tour, Andy Bell’s outfit have continued to inundate their fans with gifts in the form of Robert Smith’s ‘Trail Mix’ reworking of the classic ‘Vapour Trail’.

Whilst the original is an unabashed classic that traverses both C86 style indie and shoegaze with finesse, The Cure frontman’s re-imagining of the track focuses on track’s more percussive elements and adds in certain flourishes that make for a very stirring listen. He hasn’t exactly taken things back to the drawing board, but it’s still intriguing to see what he’d have done differently if he’d been at the helm during its initial recording.

Ride’s 25th anniversary edition of Nowhere will be released on the 6th November 2015.
