The band: At the start of 2014 Royal Blood were on most peoples ‘one to watch’ list, but few probably predicted quite how stratospheric their rise in popularity would be. The duo’s self-titled debut album was the fastest selling rock album in 3 years and propelled them to the top of the UK album charts, making them some of the hottest property in music at the moment.
The sound: ‘Ten Tonne Skeleton’ is taken from their hugely successful album, and provides all the evidence anyone could ask for in explaining their popularity. It’s intense, in your face, head-banging, shoe-tapping riffage wrapped up beautifully in an accessible rock track.
The lowdown: Royal Blood are now on touring duty with shows around the UK and Ireland and then Europe coming up. They will be playing Glasgow’s ABC on the 30th October.
