AS if they weren’t content with simply derailing the music industry once today, The Strokes have taken it upon themselves to release the second track from their upcoming Future Present Past EP.

Debuting on Zane Lowe’s Beats1 show, he had took great pleasure in kicking off his show with new track ‘Drag Queen.’

A far more brooding and dark affair than the joyful sound of ‘OBLIVIUS’, ‘Drag Queen’ sees the band tread along the periphery of the discordant post-punk of the 80’s whilst managing to retain the essence of their now legendary records.

Feeling as though it could’ve been included on Casablancas’ ‘Tyranny’ record alongside The Voidz, perhaps this is the future that the EP’s title refers to .

The Future Present Past EP will be released on 3rd June via Cult Records.
