WITH their sophomore album Volcano still eluding us off in the not-too-distant future, psychedelic outfit Temples have enlisted some friends to turn in remixes of lead single ‘Certainty.’

Following a fantastic reimagining by Grumbling Fur, they’ve since upped the ante with the emergence of an expansive new version turned in by none other than  Franz Ferdinand.

Uprooting the track’s core elements and reshaping them into five minutes of otherwordly sonics, it’s likely that no-one went into the band’s interpretation of James Bagshaw and co’s most recent output with expectations of such an electronically focused take but that’s exactly what they’ve provided.

A far more imposing piece which substitutes the original’s fanciful sounds for something that broods with a darker undercurrent, there are moments in the track in which you’d be forgiven for thinking that you were listening to the work of Modeselektor or Lusine as opposed to the art rock outfit from Glasgow.

Volcano will be released on the 3rd March 2017 via Fatpossum Records.
