CURRENTLY one of the most hotly-tipped guitar bands in the UK, Reading outfit The Amazons have unveiled a massive new single called ‘Black Magic’.

Following ‘Little Something’, it is the second consecutive track from the band to be picked up as Mistajam’s Hottest Record in the World. Less ominous than its predecessor though, the song sees them build on their growing momentum with great vigour and drive; frontman Matt Thomson displaying his vocal potential over massive guitar hooks and relentless rhythms.

Underneath its anthemic exterior though, lies dark inspiration: “Black magic is about the helplessness you feel when you realise the feelings you have for someone are no longer reciprocated. The despair at the awareness that there is nothing you can do to change the way they feel” Thomson said.

Taken from their highly anticipated debut album, due for release later this year, ‘Black Magic’ is another shining example of the band’s driving ambitions for the year ahead. Their UK headline tour stops off in Glasgow on 7th April for a show at King Tuts.
