AN exhilarating supergroup that never fails to impress when they re-emerge from their self imposed slumber, The Dead Weather have became synonymous with gritty, inventive and playful rock ‘n’ roll.
Comprised of many of the 21st Century’s most charismatic musicians, Jack White, Alison Mosshart, Dean Fertita and Jack Lawrence left us reeling with the release of last year’s tremendous Dodge & Burn.
With no signs of those elusive live shows in sight, the band have unveiled the new video for album standout ‘Impossible Winner’.
Less raucous than much of the album but nonetheless enrapturing, ‘Impossible Winner’ is a soaring ballad that’s defined by a driven vocal performance from frontwoman Alison Mosshart. Featuring frequent use of jaunty piano and a variety of orchestral flourishes, it’s a grand statement from one of the modern era’s most captivating projects.
