2015TheView_JoostVandebrug_Press_090315THERE’S no denying that The View are one of the most consistent and well loved bands operating within the fertile musical landscape of Scotland, capturing our imaginations since the heady days of Hats Off To The Buskers and refusing to relinquish them for even a second.

With their new album and subsequent tour approaching rapidly, the band have revealed the video for recent single ‘Under The Rug.’

The track itself is an extremely interesting proposition, with lead singer Kyle Falconer adopting something of a more soothing lilt over an intricate riff that could’ve been plucked from Lindsey Buckingham’s brain. Sounding more refined than on previous output, this new approach could usher in a productive new era for the band.

Its accompanying visuals present a very interesting concept, utilising the balloons that the protagonist holds as  a metaphor for the baggage that we all cling to and attempt to avoid; or perhaps ‘sweep under the rug’ if you will.Directed by Dan Joyce of Dirty Sanchez fame, it’s certainly one of the most visually gripping things that they’ve ever released.

The View’s forthcoming record Ropewalk is set for release on the 11th September 2015 via Cooking Vinyl.
