THE BAND: Establishing themselves as one of the biggest alt rock bands operating within Britain upon their third album, Glasgow based four piece Twin Atlantic saw themselves  ascending the ranks in the music industry over the course of 2014. Whilst they have paid their dues and are suitably reaping the rewards, another young Glasgow group have also saw 2014 bring them new found acclaim in the form of electro pop three piece Prides. Gaining mainstream radio play and performing in front of 1000’s at the Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony, Prides have positioned themselves well for the coming year. At the beginning of a year which both acts will hope is equally favourable, the two bands have understandably crossed paths and the result is Prides’ remix of TA’s latest single ‘Oceans.’

THE SOUND: Stripping away the pop rock sensibilities of the track’s original incarnation in favour of sped up vocal samples, intriguing percussion and emphatic synth blasts; Prides have reshaped the track in their own image. The only aspect of  the original track which remains intact is Sam Mctrusty’s trademark Scottish drawl, which combines with its new backdrop splendidly. Interestingly, the combination of two renowned Scottish groups has led to a track which bears hallmarks of the idiosyncratic productions of countrymen such as Rustie and Hudson Mohawke.

THE LOWDOWN: The reworked version will be released alongside the original track as a single on 22nd February 2015 via Red Bull. Those looking to catch either band live can do at the succession of tour dates listed below.
