The band: After the abrupt cancellation of his US tour, it appeared that George Lewis Jr’s critically acclaimed Twin Shadow project was on somewhat of a hiatus. However, it proved to be relatively short lived as he announced his signing with Warner Bros and the rescheduling of its dates. Subsequently, the first taste of new material from the forthcoming major label debut has arrived in the form of ‘Turn It Up.’
The sound: Driven by his trademark emotive vocal style, the latest outing from Twin Shadow is a sedate and soulful affair with a soaring chorus. Whilst it maintains some of the new wave elements that he is renowned for, it isn’t a million miles away from something that could be found on a release by The Weeknd.
The lowdown: As of yet, there has been no official news regarding the release of Twin Shadow’s major label debut however early speculation suggests it will surface in Spring 2015.
