THE VRYLL SOCIETY are no strangers to the term ‘buzz band’; the Liverpool outfit have been tipped for great things by bloggers, publications and tastemakers for a while now. And following a number of notable festival appearances and support slots last year, they are more than ready to make their mark on 2017.

New single ‘Sacred Flight’ is a sure signal of their intentions for the year ahead; a swirling piece of psych-pop full of kaleidoscopic synths, plucky guitar lines and shimmering melodies, it’s a track that is destined to catapult them even further into the limelight. Exuding a trippy cosmic glow, the band are able to evoke a sense of freedom and discovery over the song’s anthemic hooks and motorik groove. They may draw from a number of influences, but ‘Sacred Flight’ is a sign that their eclectic sound is quickly developing into something of their own.

In frontman Mike Ellis’ words: “Sacred Flight is a motoric journey into cosmic space jolting atoms of sound from one galaxy to another before finally exploding into a jewel box of guitar frenzied litany”.

The song is out now on Deltasonic Records and is available on the usual platforms. Its release marks an exciting start to the year ahead for The Vryll Society who will introduce themselves to American audiences at SXSW in March.
