WITH
every new excerpt or even scant detail that emerges, the anticipation for The War On Drugs’ new album continues to approach a fever pitch.

Hot on the heels of the momentous ‘Strangest Thing’, the Adam Granduciel fronted outfit have continued to allure with us their latest track ‘Pain.’

Wistful, layered and deeply affecting heartland rock ‘n’ roll that feels seminal from its very first listen, ‘Pain’ is the fusion of all that makes the band such a continuously enrapturing proposition. In line with trailblazers such as Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Bob Seger whilst courting a spirit of experimentation and musical brazenness that has long made them feel a special entity of their own, this is music that can stimulate both the mind and deepest recesses of the soul within the space of two bars.

their forthcoming album A Deeper Understanding will be released on the 25th August before the band will undertake a two-night residency at Glasgow’s hallowed Barrowland Ballroom in November.
