THEY released their eponymous debut album earlier this year to much critical acclaim, but Toronto foursome Weaves have found time in their busy schedules to release a cover of The Beatles’ classic hit ‘Help’.

As is their way, the art-rockers have deconstructed the song we all know and rebuilt it with their own modern spin, giving it a different, more melancholic feel than we are used to.

Lead vocalist Jasmyn Burke discussed the track: “We recorded this when I was feeling a little bit of heartbreak and just stuck in a slump and the song really spoke to me. I asked Morgan if he’d be into trying to cover it so we spent a couple hours one day recording it in his little spare room studio. Like most people we love the Beatles, and I felt like those lyrics were living inside of me at the time so I wanted to try and personalise it. It was a really fun experience and an interesting experiment.”

The band have spent the summer on the road in support of their debut LP, and will be returning to the UK to make an appearance at End of the Road festival before a UK tour with fellow Toronto band Dilly Dally.
