IT’S
been a long and arduous wait for new material from Texas’s White Denim, a band that last graced us with a full length LP in 2013 with the tour-de-force that was Corsicana Lemonade.

A band whose remarkable blend of blues, prog rock, guitar pop and everything in between never fails to mesmerise, the band have merely whetted our appetite for original material with ‘Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In), a superb re-imagining of the popular Micky Newbury track.

Stripping away the moodiness and atmospherics of the original in favour of an irrepressible disco beat that is punctuated by brash bursts of guitar and James Petralli’s subtle yet no less charismatic vocals, the end result lands somewhere between 70’s era Chic and the heavy psych pop of Vanilla Fudge.

Having debuted on American TV show Fargo, we can only hope that this’ll be the catalyst for further new music from White Denim in the near future.
