THE BAND: Upon arriving on the scene with their debut EP in late 2013, the hype and expectation surrounding North London’s Wolf Alice quickly snowballed to a level which saw the band officially crowned as the UK’s most blogged about artist for that year. Still in their early 20’s, the versatility of the quartets canon has had the critics scratching their heads and the band pigeonholed as everything from indie pop to grunge.

THE SOUND: Incorporating elements of post punk, grunge and even krautrock over a sprawling 4 minutes, ‘Giant Peach’ is a petri dish of the band’s varied influences. Just when you think the blitzkrieg of screeching guitars, thrashy drums and howling vocals can’t ride any harder, the track lulls momentarily in the middle 8 before snapping back for one climatic white-knuckle aural assault.

THE LOWDOWN: ‘Giant Peach’ is the first single to be taken from My Love Is Cool, the long-anticipated debut album which is released 22nd June 2015 via Dirty Hit Records. They embark on a huge UK tour throughout March/April and hit up Glasgow’s Oran Mor on the 23rd March.
