IT’S 
been a big day for announcements in the festival world, with many of Europe’s largest annual music events announcing a string of great new acts that are sure to garner revellers from around the world. With many of the nation’s music lovers opting to eschew the often treacherous terrain and weather of the UK’s music festivals in favour of more exotic fare, here’s a round-up of some of the biggest line-up announcements of the day.

Best Kept Secret Festival

Situated on the site of  Beerse Bergen in Hilvarenbeek, Best Kept Secret’s name may no longer be applicable as it slowly morphs into one of The Netherlands’ biggest cultural events.

Held between 17th-19th June every year, organisers have revealed the following exciting names for the event with much more to follow:
Beck, Wilco, Two Door Cinema Club, Editors, Beach House, Caribou, Bloc Party, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Half Moon Run, Destroyer, Yeasayer, Yelawolf and Explosions In The Sky.

Flow Festival

Held in Finland’s wondrous capital city of Helsinki, Flow Festival has became a worldwide institution since its initial incarnation all the way back in 2004.

Taking place between the 12th-14th August 2016, they’ve revealed their first nine acts for next year and it’s certainly a diverse and inviting line-up.

The announcement is as follows:

CHVRCHES, M83, Descendants, Stormzy, Jamie XX, Thee Oh Sees, Four Tet, Hercules And Love Affair and Ata Kak.

Oya Festival

Oslo’s Oya Festival continues to grow exponentially every year, becoming a hub for both burgeoning talent and a slew of music industry legends, as evidenced by the inclusion of acts such as Chic feat. Nile Rodgers and Ride on last year’s bill.

Having already announced returning British shogaze outfit Lush in November, they’ve now bolstered the bill with acts such as Foals, CHVRCHES, Jamie XX and Stormzy. Also confirmed to play the festival are acts such as Neurosis, Ane Brun and AURORA.
