THIS Saturday, music fans will descend on SWG3 for the inaugural edition of Houses Festival.
The brainchild of TTV and SWG3, the brand-new music festival promises an exciting lineup full of the best new bands and artists in Scotland – transforming one of the city’s most popular venues into an open house with three rooms of live music to explore.
Spanning a variety of genres and styles that will switch from room to room, Houses will showcase up-and coming indie musicians, rappers, alternative artists and DJs alike, while giving music fans a unique space to discover their new favourite act
And with both indoor and outdoor stages, visitors stepping through the door will sure to get festival season off to a brilliant start in the Glasgow sunshine.
MULTI-GENRE LINEUP
The Houses lineup spans various genres and styles – so there’s something for everyone. Each room of SWG3 will offer its own unique atmosphere – so whether you want to hear soaring indie rock from the likes of Dillon Squire, ethereal dreamy hyper pop from Pearling, club beats from Rory James or invigorating hip hop from the likes of Psweatpants, we’ve got you covered.
ARTISTS ON THE RISE
Houses boasts a lineup of some of the most exciting up and comers in Scotland at the moment – and this is your chance to see them before they hit the big time. Our Warehouse headliners Slix recently sold out St Lukes – the Gourock outfit have amassed a loyal following with their surging, anthemic indie rock tales of the Scottish youthful experience and are sure to spark a frenzy.
Elsewhere, Psweatpants and Joell have been hotly tipped by Bemz – the former is building a reputation for incisive wordplay and hart-hitting style, while the latter is known for his more innovative, introspective approach. Meanwhile, Queen of Harps, the Scottish Malaysian-Chinese rapper, was one of four acts to reach the live finals of the BBC Introducing Scottish Act of The Year 2023.
Another act tipped for great things, Pearling was nominated for Sound of Young Scotland not so long ago – her ethereal, dreamy creations have struck a chord with her growing following online, while her recent mixtape ‘Lovelocket’ displayed heaps of potential.
Hotly tipped by Kyle Falconer, the likes of Josh Kelly and Ben Walker are rising indie singer-songwriters with an abundance of potential. Meanwhile, Dillon Squire is not long removed from a quick UK tour with Liam Gallagher and Dillon Squire. We also have the gentle, folk-tinged sounds of Finn Brodie and Alice Faye to open proceedings in The Poetry Club.
And for those who enjoy their DJs, there’s plenty to get acquainted with – from Frankie Elyse to K4CIE to Dan South and Dominque. Each set to bring their own style to the festival, they’ll light up The Terrace from 3pm – 9pm.
WRISTBANDS ON ENTRY
Box office will be open from 2:30pm this Saturday where you’ll collect your wristbands. Wristbands will also be available to purchase on the door – importantly, these get you into all indoor and outdoor spaces.
SUNNY VIBES ON THE TERRACE
Great news, the weather is looking great for the weekend which means you can enjoy the sun at our stage on the Terrace. Houses has stages both inside and out – giving you the best of both worlds. But with the temperatures looking great, it’s the perfect chance to catch some rays at our outdoor area..
And on top of all this, we will also have a food vendor outside the venue for all of those who fancy a bite to eat.
