THERE is just two days until music fans descend on Glasgow’s East End for TENEMENT TRAIL, Scotland’s multi-venue festival of music discovery. Set to take over eight of Glasgow’s most well-loved venues, over 40 bands and artists are set to perform this weekend and etch their name in TENEMENT TRAIL history.
This year’s festival will take over Scotland’s most iconic venue, The Barrowlands, along with St Luke’s and The Winged Ox, Van Winkle, Barras Art and Design, 226 Gallowgate, The Gate and McChuills on the High Street.
Featuring a mix of established veterans, hotly tipped artists and brand-new local bands, there’s truly something for everyone – with everything from anthemic rock and roll, high-energy punk, innovative dance music, folk, pop, and hip hop all represented on the day.
This year’s festival will be headlined by Pale Waves – the Manchester indie pop heroes released their fourth album ‘Smitten’ last year and are known for huge tunes like ‘Television Romance’, ‘There’s a Honey’, ‘She’s My Religion’ and ‘Perfume’.
Other highlights will include the return of Dead Pony who will sub-headline at the Barras, alongside Gallus. Elsewhere, Nottingham post-punk outfit Do Nothing will headline BAaD, while Glasgow punks Soapbox will tear the roof off St Lukes, while we’ve once again teamed up with BBC Introducing who are taking over Barrowlands 2 with a strong line-up including Theo Bleak, No Windows, Tanzana, The Rooks and more.
When it comes to exciting emerging talent, festival-goers will be spoilt for choice. The likes of our competition winners Alcatraz, Woeful Idle, Fog Bandits, Madra Salach, Bold Love, Dirty Faces, Croithe, Basht. and Sister Madds are among the many artists appearing on the day.
And of course, there’s those intriguing secret sets to keep an eye on!
The festival has now revealed the all-important set times, so fans can now begin to plan their TRAIL before Saturday 11th October.
KICK TRAIL OFF WITH KEY INSIGHTS AND NETWORKING
This year, we’re bringing together artists, managers, and industry for two exclusive events – both are free to attend and designed to empower your music career. The first is a panel with Sentric on how to build your career as an independent artist, and the second is a networking mixer for artists and music professionals – both will take place at The Gate. Find out more here.
WRISTBANDS = GOOD TIMES
The TT box office is located in BAAD’s Backyard and will open at 1PM before the first band opens the festival 2PM in Van Winkle. Every ticket must be exchanged for a wristband and fans are encouraged to get down early to enjoy the full TRAIL experience. Bars will open in venues at 1PM.
ENJOY THE FULL TRAIL EXPERIENCE
The Barrowland area offers an incredible experience every Saturday with the iconic markets in full swing throughout the day. There’s also pop-up food options around the area, as well as lots of special little pubs for a quick drink between bands.
BBC INTRODUCING
The festival is delighted to announce that it is collaborating once again with BBC Introducing Live, set to take over Barras 2 with acts like Tanzana, The Rooks, Theo Bleak and more. Fans can listen to these sets again on BBC Scotland after the festival.
