THE team at Tenement TV discover stuff on the daily. And with that, the TTV DISCOVER series was born. It lends itself to the new tracks we publish, the festivals we shout about, the old iconic albums we urge you to have another listen of and to this, our new TTV DISCOVER feature uncovering some of the best bands on the scene in five pics.
To launch this new feature, we caught up with Glasgow’s Baby Strange. A band that are recklessly nailing it in their own fashion, to their own beat and at their own pace. About to release their debut record, Baby Strange talk us through 5 pics that define their journey as a band. Go discover…
“This is a photo from our first ever gig. It was our friend Blue’s flat. It felt amazing for us to finally unleash our music to our friends and that gig made us feel the excitement of being a live band for the first time.”
“This photo was taken on our first ever tour. We were supporting Palma Violets, those guys really helped us out at the early stages, we didn’t even have a single out but they heard a track and invited us along. That tour taught us a lot about being a live band. This photo was taken during the Palmas encore, we got on stage with them and Childhood to play ‘Invasion Of The Tribbles’.”
“Supporting Slaves at Brixton Academy was a big deal for us, it’s a venue we’ve always wanted to play and to play it with our friends was a great feeling. We’ve watched them grow since they played King Tuts to 20 people and to open for them in London was something we’ll never forget. We want to headline it now that we’ve had a taste of it. This photo was taken by our friend and amazing photographer Neelam Khan Vela during the sound check.”
“Our good friend Neelam also took this photo of me when we were recording our debut album. Ever since we started this band the one goal was to make a record that we love, we’ve done just that. ‘Want It Need It’ comes out Sep 2nd on Ignition Records.”
“This one speaks for itself. Our biggest headline show to date. Playing that venue with our album out is going to be nuts and to have so many of our friends on the bill just makes it more special. Tickets are on sale now, hopefully we’ll see you there.”
