AHEAD of the worldwide celebration of women on International Women’s Day on 8th March, TTV are celebrating women in music both on and off the stage at our TTV IWD TKVR on Friday 6th March. The live gig in Glasgow’s hottest new music venue, The Amsterdam basement, will see some of the most exciting artists around right now take to the stage including Edinburgh’s Medicine Cabinet and Swim School. Arguably two of the most impressive Scottish artists right now, TTV have also bagged DJ sets from Honeyblood + Lucia to create the perfect party atmosphere on what we’re calling International Women’s Weekender.
TTV have curated a team of women both on the off the stage for this event, booking female photographers, content creators, sound engineer, DJ, graphic designer and beyond for the celebration. Event organiser Nadine Walker said: “Women in music is something TTV are extremely passionate about and we’re thrilled to reveal our plans for our takeover this year. We have brought together two of the most exciting female-fronted bands in Scotland right now to perform live, plus two veteran female artists Honeyblood and LUCIA will take to the decks for the party.
“It was really important to me that the full team behind the event is led by women in music and I am really proud of the crew of photographers, graphic designers, sound engineers and beyond who are getting together to shout about women in music in Scotland. The talent within the industry has never been stronger and the 6th March is a chance for us to inspire other women and shout about the talent louder than even before.
“Offering up-and-coming artists a platform is at the heart of TTV and we have really exciting plans for 2020.”
