Make sure you get down early, get to as many venues as possible and make the most of your day!

THE WOMEN OF TENEMENT TRAIL

In an industry where so many demonstrate ineptitude in addressing the massive inequalities that continue to persist to this day, Tenement Trail is a festival that prides itself on being diverse and inclusive. Known for spotlighting the rising female talent from Scotland and much further afield, this year’s bill is bursting with a succession of artists that have all of the tools to go as far as they’d like to and whose material is enchanting fans far and wide. Check them out here.

THE ROCK N ROLL ROUTE

With the UK currently bursting at the seams with exhilarating guitar bands, it would only be right to shine a light on some of the best rock music the nation has to offer. Watching it come alive in a sweaty packed-out venue full of like-minded passionate individuals and a rip-roarious atmosphere, it doesn’t take long to be reminded of what made the genre such an indomitable force in the first place. With that in mind, we’ve highlighted some of the best guitar bands that are worth checking out at our inner-city festival over here.

THE ELECTRONIC ROUTE

From shimmering, euphoric synth-pop to dark and brooding electronica, there are so many ways for today’s artists to provoke a reaction from the modern listener. No longer do musicians rely on the trusty formula of drums, bass and guitar to make a serious impact when so much technology is at our disposal. While gritty rock & roll will always be synonymous with the Glasgow music scene, an increasingly eclectic bunch of artists have risen to the forefront in recent years; spanning a whole range of genres and styles. With that in mind, those looking for hook-laden alt-pop or innovative electronica, you should look no further than the artists here.

THE ECLECTIC ROUTE

In today’s world, it’s perfectly commonplace for a person’s playlist to entail everything from the most rugged of underground hip-hop to jovial indie anthems with a dash of everything in between thrown in for good measure. At Tenement Trail, we aim to mirror the disparate leanings of the modern music consumer and after providing comprehensive lists for genres such as rock ‘n’ roll and electronica, we’ve now compiled a handy list of music that is sure to cater to those that relish the undefinable. Check it out here.
