WITH its sun-drenched coastline and stunning island resorts, it is perhaps no surprise that Croatia’s festival scene has exploded over the last few years. From its wild boat parties to infamous beach raves, there is now so much to offer the thousands of music lovers who flock to the country on a yearly basis in search of a hedonistic escape.

Head away from the coast however and you’ll find one of ‘Europe’s best kept secrets’. Situated in the picturesque surroundings of Lake Jarun in the capital city of Zagreb, INMusic Festival has built a strong reputation for attracting some of the biggest names in indie music while retaining its exceptionally cheap ticket prices. Held over three lake islands, the largest open-air event in Croatia attracts up to 25,000 music fans each year of all nationalities with its beautiful location, modern campsite, warm climate and impressive line-up; always featuring an eclectic mix of cult heroes, modern rock icons and fresh talent from around the globe.

Taking place across the 19th-21st June, this year’s festival will be headlined by Kasabian, Arcade Fire and Kings Of Leon alongside a huge variety of exciting bands who will also be appearing across the three days. Check them out below.

Arcade Fire

Since their last appearance at INmusic, Arcade Fire have transformed into a bonafide global phenomenon. With four critically acclaimed albums to their name, their eagerly anticipated headline appearance will perhaps give fans the exciting opportunity to hear material from their upcoming fifth LP. Known all over the world for their spectacular live show, the indie rock ensemble are now headline veterans and are sure to generate an incredible atmosphere with their massive anthems and innovative tunes.

Kasabian

Teasing the release of their new ‘guitar-heavy’ album with ‘You’re In Love With A Psycho’ and ‘Are You Looking For Action?’, all signs point to another belter from Leicester rockers Kasabian. With a number of festival appearances confirmed throughout the summer, their headline show at INmusic will be one of the first on the calendar and is sure to be one to remember. Known to incite chaos with huge anthems such as ‘Club Foot’, ‘Empire’ and ‘Fire’, the band’s formidable live reputation precedes them.

Kings Of Leon

Very much accustomed to huge headline performance like this, Kings Of Leon continue to sell out arenas around the world with ease. Having released their seventh album WALLS last October, the band have enjoyed a relentless touring schedule since the beginning of the year. Expect a set full of crowd-pleasing anthems and euphoric alt-rock.

 

Alt-J

Bursting back onto the scene with two incredible new tracks titled ‘3WW’ and ‘In Cold Blood’ earlier this year, Alt-J fans don’t have long to wait until the band’s highly anticipated third album arrives on 2nd June. With all signs pointing towards another hugely experimental and innovative offering from the trio, they will bring their enthralling live show to Croatia with a lot of new material to share. With a busy summer ahead, it will be one of the first opportunities to see the three-piece in action.

Slaves

Armed with a relentless onstage energy and a formidable live show, Slaves are a must-see on any festival line-up. Their rise to the forefront of the UK music scene has been nothing short of thrilling to witness as they continue to incite chaos in venues all over the country. With two brilliant albums to their name, the pair continue to spread their appeal far and wide thanks to their exhilarating combination of blistering riffs and biting lyrics.

Public Service Broadcasting

Manipulating public service information recordings against rousing instrumental backdrops, Public Service Broadcasting have a live show like no other. With the addition of striking visuals and witty repartee, the pseudonymous duo must be seen to be fully appreciated; their alternative anthems are transformed into a visual spectacle.
