TENEMENT TV caught up with Baby Strange in the midst of lockdown to chat as part of our ‘In Isolation With…’ series.
What’s the last thing Baby Strange said to each other on WhatsApp?
“We were just chatting about doing a big Glasgow show at the end of the year. More on that soon…”
How do you feel about the current state of the world and the effect that it will have on the Scottish music industry?
“I still can’t quite get my head around what’s happened over the past few weeks. It’s a very uncertain time. We need to support independent venues and make sure they survive. One positive I’m taking away is that I’ve been writing more than I ever have. I think a lot of great songs and albums will appear after all of this.”
What 5 artists are on your isolation playlist?
“Spyres, Ghostbaby, Walt Disco, Sega Bodega, Lotus Eater.”
When the world gets back to normal, what’s the first thing Baby Strange are going to do?
“We’ll be heading straight into the studio to finish off what we started before we got put into lockdown. We’re looking forward to throwing a big Club Sabbath party too.”
What’s next for the band? Still releasing new music etc etc?
“New single ‘More! More! More!’ is out now. We’re very excited about this track. We’re in the middle of booking a bunch of dates in November/December to make up for our tour in April getting cancelled.”
