FOLLOWING the announcement of his next album, ‘Grand Plan’, Tenement TV caught up singer-songwriter Dan Croll for a chat as part of our ‘In Isolation With…’ series.

What’s the last thing you said to your management in the Whatsapp group?

“‘Tasty tasty yog-yog.’ I believe it was in reference to some delicious looking yoghurt.”

How do you feel about the current state of the world and the effect that it will have on the music industry?

“In some ways I’m comforted by the fact that streaming music will continue, and that music will still be enjoyed at home from the likes of youtube, Spotify, instagram live, etc. However, I’m really concerned for the live industry and all of those workers involved in it. It looks like we won’t be seeing any touring for quite a while, plus summer festival season looks like a no go, so sound and lighting techs, session musicians, promoters, hospitality workers, and many more will be really hurting from the fall out of this.”

What 5 bands are on your isolation playlist?

“Porches, Bedouine, Dirty Projectors, Christian Lee Hutson, Caribou”

When the world gets back to normal, what’s the first thing the band is going to do?

“Fly home and see my family and friends”

What’s next for Dan Croll?

“Hopefully more music and more touring. I think that’s all everyone in the music industry is hoping for right now.”
