FOLLOWING the release of his latest EP last week, TENEMENT TV caught up with Luke La Volpe to chat about life in lockdown.
What’s the last thing you said in your band’s WhatsApp?
“Number one in the fucking singer-songwriter pre-order chart on iTunes ya bangers.”
How do you feel about the current state of the world and the effect it will have on the music industry?
“It’s tough to watch really. A lot of people have burst a gut to make this year their year and it’s all been halted. I reckon once this is all over you will see a surge in gig attendances and the music that will come out of this will be tremendous. Got to think of the positives.”
What 5 bands/artists are on your isolation playlist?
“At the minute Joesef, Kitti, Lizzo, Desert Sessions and of course Sinatra.”
When the world gets back to normal what’s the first thing you are going to do?
“Straight down the boozer for an ice cold pint of T.”
What’s next for you?
“Take it as it comes and just see what pops up. I’m a firm believer of if you work hard you’ll get what you want. I want quite a few things, so for now I’m grafting.”
