ARCTIC MONKEYS could possibly be planning a run of massive homecoming shows in Sheffield next summer.

The rumours emerged after promoters SJM gave notice of a license application for three shows between June 4-6 2021 in the city’s Hillsborough Park – with details of the event being posted on the park gates.

The notice states that the event will feature “the provision of regulated entertainment” and the “provision of live music” with eFestivals claiming that the application has been filed directly on the band’s behalf.

A similar application was submitted back in 2018, reportedly on behalf of Arctic Monkeys, but it was then withdrawn.

It remains unclear whether the band have started working on the foll0w-up to 2018’s ‘Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino’ but drummer Matt Helders had previously stated that fans won’t have to wait “another five years” like they did between ‘AM’ and ‘their last album.
