THE BLACK ANGELS have announced the release of their new album Death Songs on 21st April.

A play on the classic Velvet Underground track ‘The Black Angel’s Death Song’ , the album will be the follow up to 2013’s Indigo Meadow and 2014’s Clear the Forest EP. Its confirmation follows pictures that were posted from the studio late last year which indicated that new material would possibly be on its way.

Along with its announcement, the band have shared a new track called ‘Currency’. Exploring the relationship between money, power and corruption, the song shows the band to be in thrilling and invigorated form. Encapsulating all that the band does best, it is another explosive piece of psych-rock full of menacing rhythms and shredded guitars.

With a large and varied output since 2006, the Austin outfit have developed into one of the flagship psych-rock bands of recent times thanks to their unique creative vision and unparalleled musicianship. If ”Currency’ is anything to go by, the band look set to continue in this rich vein of form.
