BOB DYLAN has been awarded a nobel prize in literature.
Joining an esteemed list of literary talents including Samuel Beckett, Harold Pinter, Seamus Heaney, Albert Camus and many other extraordinary minds, Dylan was presented the prize for 2016 “for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.”
No stranger to honorary degrees and other accolades, Sara Danius; president of the Swedish Academy, has said that Dylan is ‘a great poet in the English tradition.’
In addition to the prestige that comes along with such an accolade, the pioneering singer/songwriter will also receive 8 million Swedish kronor which equates to just shy of a million American dollars.
