THE 22nd installment of the winter Celtic Connections festival will run from January 15 to February 1, and a host of big Scottish and international names have been revealed.
The festival will open with a gig paying tribute to Martyn Bennett, the Scottish musician known for fusing traditional songs with electronica, who passed away from cancer in 2005.
In 2015, Celtic Connections will feature acts including veteran folk-rock band Fairport Convention, Americana aces Lambchop who will perform their classic album Nixon in full and homegrown talent like Eddi Reader, who is fresh from a performance at the Ryder Cup Gala Concert last month.
One of our top picks from the festival is the third installment of the ‘Roaming Roots Revue’ on 18th January 2015 which includes Roddy Hart & The Lonesome Fire on the line-up. You can check out the show from the event earlier on this year filmed by Tenement TV here-
The festival will use a theme of reinterpretation bringing songs to new life in a different way showing the world how unique the city of Glasgow is as it welcomes legends of the music scene from around the globe.
