THE comprehensive list of shows for this year’s Celtic Connections has been unveiled and features a myriad of incredible artists across three weeks of live music.

An event which seizes hold of the imagination and takes over many of Glasgow’s venues for its duration, this resoundingly diverse winter festival has once again delivered a stellar line-up that is brimming with incredible prospects and established stars.

Among the highlights of this year’s line-up include a Roaming Roots Revue tribute to Tom Petty, Broken Records, Frank Turner, Marnie, Siobhan Wilson, Fiskur, Declan Welsh, Out Lines, performances of classic albums such as John Martyn’s Solid Air and Joni Mitchell’s Court & Spark and a 20th anniversary celebration of Martyn Bennett’s Bothy Culture at The SSE Hydro which will feature an 80 piece orchestra.

Touching on the immense levels of intermingling of sounds and genres  that are on offer at this year’s event, festival artistic director Donald Shaw has stated that:

“Since the inception of Celtic Connections in 1994 the Scottish music scene has developed and diversified hugely. When the festival began there was still significant compartmentalisation of genres, which although has its place at times, has become less prevalent over the years. The influence and inspiration that the traditional music scene has had across the whole musical landscape in Scotland and worldwide has helped to make the journey of Celtic Connections all the more adventurous and exciting.”
