FANS of the late David Bowie have banded together in order to raise funds for a special sculpture in honour of the legendary musician.

Following his death in January of last year, there have been all manner of tribute concerts and special gestures made to commemorate his unparalleled contributions to the world of popular music. Now, fans have aimed to erect a massive Aladdin Sane inspired lightning bolt near his birthplace in the Brixton district of London.

Among a number of permanent memorials planned including a statue in Aylesbury and a plague in his beloved Berlin, organisers behind the lightning bolt have speculated that it would be around three stories high but would be reinforced in order to withstand any winds or gales.

Seeking around £1 million in funding, check out all further details via their official pledge site.
