DAMON ALBARN has confirmed that a new album from The Good, The Bad and The Queen is en route.

Formed of the Blur and Gorillaz frontman alongside The Clash’s punk icon Paul Simonon, The Verve’s Simon Tong and afrobeat pioneer Tony Allen, the band’s 2007 has since became a revered body of work and fans have clamoured for a sequel for many years.

Speaking to Q Magazine in the midst of his promotional jaunt for the new Gorillaz record, Albarn has revealed that those hungry for new material from the band won’t need to merely theorise for much longer.

After initially claiming that a new record had been written in 2014, the world’s tumultuous state has seemingly provided him with new inspiration as he claimed that “Brexit has obviously given us a wonderful starting point.”
