Set to premiere on Youtube at 18:30 tonight (Friday 10th April), Friday’s mix is an evening set from the fictional ‘Woods Stage’, capturing that feeling of excitement and optimism; seeing a whole weekend ahead of you the mix of uplifting and sunshine soaked songs is the perfect tee-up for the weekend ahead. The first mix due to premiere tonight, features a flurry of artists from Scottish including artists Gerry Cinnamon, Medicine Men, Shaka Loves You plus the likes of Tame Impala, DMA’s, Jamie T, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Confidence Man, the mixes are set to propel us into a festival experience offering an immersive festival experience despite the current circumstances.

Set to be released on Saturday 11th April, at 2359hrs, the second is a post-midnight, post-headliner after-party for those that don’t want to call it a night yet; this instalment is intensely energetic and a borderline chaotic hedonistic mix that dials into the rebellious feelings of reckless abandon dance floors in Big Top tents are often fuelled by. Saturday’s mix will see the likes of Baby Strange, Primal Scream, Kanye West, Slipknot, Underworld, Kasabian, The Amazing Snakeheads, The Walkmen and Arctic Monkeys.

The third is a soothing antidote for a Sunday morning/early afternoon. As revellers nurse hangovers, this mix of dreamy and cascading sounds is what the fuzzy headed festival needs to get back to full strength for the final day. Dan South has chosen to mix the likes of Alt J, Gorillaz, Medicine Men, The War On Drugs, Christian Fleetwood Ft. Philip Seth Campbell and Future Islands for the closing affair.

Speaking about the mixes, Dan South said: “I get the biggest buzz out of playing festivals. There’s an ‘anything goes’ feeling you just don’t get playing in clubs and it felt like something quite far away in the current climate. Whilst I give all credit to those doing live streams and those kinds of things it wasn’t the sort of thing I’d do.

“Mixes I’ve made in the past have been things I’ve tried to texture and layer with sound effects to engulf and transport the listener into a different space, so I thought with things as they currently are ignite some of that buzz of a festival. So the soundscapes combined with the sets I’ve mixed with the best of Scottish talent like Medicine Men, Baby Strange and Christian Fleetwood, topped of with the amazing visuals by Jamie Logie should bring some of that festival feel the listeners way this weekend.”

All tracks are premiering on Youtube, check them out over the course of the weekend here.
