imageMODERN day blues virtuoso Joe Bonamassa and legendary soul pioneer George Benson have been revealed as the first acts for this year’s Glasgow Jazz Festival.

Celebrating its 30th year of bringing some of the world’s most acclaimed musicians to Scotland’s most prominent cultural hub, the announcement of the two high caliber artists is just the beginning of what’s sure to be an incredible line-up.

Descending upon the city’s Clude Auditorium, the renowned Bonamassa is set to turn in a unique set entitled ‘A Salute To The British Blues Explosion’ which will see him honour the contributions of artists such as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page to the world of popular music.

Meanwhile George Benson is intending to bring a career spanning outing to The Royal Concert Hall which is sure to exhibit not only his tremendous guitar playing but tracks such as ‘Give Me The Night’, ‘Turn Your Love Around’ and much more.

The performances will occur on the 3rd July and the 22nd June respectively.

Speaking in reference to this year’s incredible event, festival director Jill Rodger has stated that:

“I think it’s safe to say that they are a perfect example of the fantastic caliber of musicians we have coming along to celebrate our 30th festival!”

Tickets for both events will be available from Friday 29th January at 9 am.
