A short clip from the forthcoming and hotly-anticipated documentary about late songstress Amy Winehouse has emerged.
Directed by the multi-award winning Asif Kapadia and aided by the team who brought the life of tragic F1 star Ayrton Senna to the screen, the succinctly titled ‘Amy’ is set provide unprecedented access to the singer’s creative process and various candid interviews.
In the clip, Amy is seen being jovial toward the camera before narration from former manager Nick Schamansky speaks in reference to the formative stages of her songwriting career; enabling an image of Winehouse’s handwritten lyrics to take center stage as some of her wonderfully soulful output plays in the background.
A documentary that has courted controversy due to the complaints of Winehouse’s family, it will be released in UK cinemas on 3rd July 2015.
