FIVE years on from their critically acclaimed second album, Helplessness Blues, it seems Fleet Foxes may have finally put an end to their hiatus.
The Seattle outfit had initially put their plans on hold back in 2014, due to vocalist Robin Pecknold’s studying for a degree from Columbia University.
The band are set to return with new material. The news follows Guitarist Christian Wargo breaking the silence on recent discussions with Pecknold regarding the band getting back together; stating that although nothing is confirmed as of yet, something is definitely happening. The pair were said to have broached the subject at a recent Joanna Newsom show in Los Angeles, where Pecknold was an opening act.
Speculation is mounting that J. Tillman (Father John Misty) may also make a return to the band, although no official comment has yet been made. Tillman joined Fleet Foxes in 2008 as their drummer until 2012 and has worked on various solo projects since.
Elsewhere, Robin Pecknold’s latest work involved writing the score for off-Broadway play Wyoming in January 2015.
