GLASGOW punks Gallus have announced two surprise shows in Glasgow next month, on 1st and 8th April. However, fans hoping to nab a ticket are already out of luck – as both shows sold out almost as soon as they were announced.

The band set TENEMENT TRAIL alight last year, making their Barrowlands debut in from of a huge crowd with material from their popular debut album ‘We Don’t Like The People We’ve Become’ and last year’s EP ‘Cool To Drive’.

And now they’re teasing new material after spending the first few weeks of 2026 in the studio. With the album announcement expected to drop anytime soon, these newly announced shows will be a chance to see what they’ve been working on live and direct in sweaty, intimate surroundings.

Gallus will play The Brazen Head on 1st April with very special guest DJs to be announced before the gig. The gig was announced yesterday morning and sold out within 30 minutes.

A week later, they’ll then play McChuills on 8th April – the site of one of their most riotous gigs to date after TRNSMT in 2024. The gig was also announced yesterday and sold out within a few hours.

We spoke to the band’s Eamon Ewins who said:

‘We wanted to play a gig in a space that no one’s ever seen, not just us, but probably any band before. Glasgow has lost a lot of iconic venues in recent years, and we’re still losing them, so it feels important to give people something fresh and exciting.

‘If you want to do a gig like this you sort of have to put it on yourself, but to be honest that’s where the strength is in a gig like this I think. Going to see an energetic band perform in a small room with no stage – it doesn’t get much more intimate and exciting than that. It’s a bit of a throwback and a bit of variety that I think Glasgow’s live music scene could use. And I think we were right in thinking that based on how quickly the tickets disappeared- the eventbrite page crashed!

We just wanted to create something excited for ourselves and for our fans. Bigger very often isn’t better. And in our case we’ve got a lot of exciting stuff in the to announce in the next few weeks, so wha better way to do that than a sweaty DIY gig with people bouncing off the walls’
