GLASGOW’S lost nightclubs will be celebrated at a Doors Open event in Glasgow and will feature some amazing memories from Tenement Trail Festival’s Sauchiehall Street era.
Who remembers the iconic Flat o/1 midnight set at Tenement Trail circa 2016? Incredible scenes. Just ask our festival photographer. “Flat 0/1 sets at TRAIL were always mental. The venue was tiny with a busy bar right in the middle of the gig. Getting in the middle of the crowd wasn’t good enough to shoot the band during those sets, I had to climb on top of the bar too. Shooting those types of gigs are always fun, it’s what live music is all about.”
The Glasgow’s Lost Nightclubs Exhibition explores this overlooked part of the city’s heritage through photographs, flyers, tickets, posters, clothing and other memorabilia, alongside memories shared by former club-goers. Together, these memories, photographs and materials offer a glimpse into the people and communities who brought these spaces to life.
