JACK WHITE has confirmed that work is well underway on his new solo album.
The legendary singer-songwriter posted two photos on Twitter today via his Third Man label, one taken in New York City on 27th July and the other in Los Angeles on 30th July. The photos were captioned “Jack White recording songs for his third solo album”.
While a release date has yet to be confirmed, the news follows White’s comments to The New Yorker back in March when he stated: “I’m going to try to write songs where I can’t be heard by the next-door neighbour”. Revealing that he had opted to use an old reel-to-reel tape recorder, he added: ““I want to write like Michael Jackson would write – instead of writing parts on the instruments or humming melodies, you think of them. To do everything in my head and to do it in silence and use only one room.”
The ex-White Stripes frontman revealed ‘Battle Cry’ in April; his first piece of solo material since 2014’s Lazaretto. Check out the track below, alongside the photos.
