JOSH Homme has confirmed that Queens of the Stone Age will work on a new album, following his recent project with Iggy Pop.
Last releasing a record in 2013 titled ….Like Clockwork, Homme has confirmed the same line-up is locked in for the new music.
The last LP featured an all-star line-up including Dave Grohl, Mark Lanegan, Trent Reznor, Alex Turner, and Elton John as well as the return of former QOTSA bassist Nick Oliveri who reunited with the band on record for the first time since 2002’s Songs for the Deaf.
During QOSTA’s break bassist Michael Shuman has released an album with his side-project Mini Mansions that featured collaborations from Alex Turner and Brian Wilson. Troy Van Leeuwen has recorded an album with the supergroup Gone Is Gone with Mastodon’s Troy Sanders, Tony Hajjar from At the Drive-In and multi-instrumentalist Mike Zarin.
Dean Fertita has worked with Jack White on Lazaretto and The Dead Weather’s latest album, Dodge and Burn. He also teamed up with Homme and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders to work on Iggy Pop’s Post Pop Depression.
