AFTER weeks of teasing, Kula Shaker have ’emerged from the silence’ and announced a UK and European tour and teased a video for a new album.
Posting on social media the band said: “The Time has come! Kula Shaker have finally emerged from the silence and mark their return with live dates throughout the UK & Beyond.”
The tour will involve three UK dates, including a show at Oran Mor in Glasgow on the 15th February. From there they will continue on through Europe, finishing with two dates in Russia in early March.
The band, who found fame in the mid to late nineties with tracks like ‘Govinda’, ‘Tattva’ and a cover of ‘Hush’, haven’t released an album since 2010’s Pilgrim’s Progress, which received rave reviews from critics.
You can watch the teaser video for the new album below, which is titled ‘Eclipse Teaser #1′, suggesting both the album name and the likelihood of further teasers. Although it is short it is apparent the band have maintained their classic blend of traditional Indian music mixed with western rock. The track builds up beautifully and then suddenly cuts out, no doubt leaving fans’ mouth’s watering at the prospect of finally hearing a new album.
